'Proud to be supporting PETA': Helen Flanagan

She's landed herself in hot water on a number of occasions due to her somewhat ill-advised Twitter posts in the past.
And Helen Flanagan suffered yet another blunder on Tuesday when she supported an animal rights charity, while appearing to endorse leather products at the same time.
Posting a series of pictures on her page which completely contradicted each other, the 22-year-old actress appeared totally unaware of her error in judgement as she cyber-bragged to her 282,524 followers about her seemingly never-ending collection of designer handbags.

The former soap beauty started her day by posting a snap of her in workout gear, writing: 'Gym this morn.'

Evidently keen to hammer the message home that she is a supporter of animal rights, the ex-Coronation Street star then uploaded a shot of just her chest area, wearing a T-shirt bearing the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) logo.
She wrote: 'Proud to be supporting PETA :) #workouttop.'

While most people tend to opt for a pair of jogging bottoms and a tatty vest to do their workouts, Helen - who is dating Manchester City footballer Scott Sinclair - made sure to give her gym ensemble a touch of WAG glam with a number of designer accessories.
Pouting up a storm with her signature pose, the platinum blonde reality star teamed her T-shirt, leggings and trainers with a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses and an oversized black Louis Vuitton pashmina.
Rather than shove her towel and water bottle in a plastic carrier bag like most mere mortals, Helen toted a large Louis Vuitton holdhall and wore a white quilted Chanel handbag on her arm - seemingly totally unaware that both products were made from leather.

The star later continued with her relentless self promotion, posting another snap of her carrying the leather bags once again, while wearing a fuchsia Topshop blazer, a black Azzedine Alaia dress and tan shoe boots by Russell and Bromley.
Heading off to London from her native Manchester for the day, Helen tweeted a snap of her scrambled egg and smoked salmon breakfast, with her quilted leather Chanel handbag taking centre stage once again.

PETA openly campaigns against the use of leather, referring to the material as 'a global killer'.
The official PETA website states: 'Buying leather directly contributes to factory farms and slaughterhouses because skin is the most economically important byproduct of the meat industry.
'With every pair of leather shoes that you buy, you sentence an animal to a lifetime of suffering.'

Helen caused outrage back in December when she posted a picture of herself pointing a gun to her head on Twitter in the wake of the tragic Sandy Hook Massacre, and eventually apologised on national television for her error in judgement.
In November, she caused more upset on the social networking site after she posted a photo of a cat who had to have his nose and ears removed to save him from skin cancer.
Then this weekend, she caused more controversy by appearing to 'like' a 'thinspiration' Instagram account when she shared photos from an account called skinnybikinibody, which shows picture of women under captions including: 'Craving is only a feeling.'
