Chris Gascoyne, who is back on the Coronation Street cobbles to resume his role as Peter Barlow. The 44-year-old – who plays Peter Barlow – has been on a six-month break from the ITV1 soap, to spend time with his wife and three children after a couple of years of hectic filming and big storylines.
But now he’s back – with a tan and a beard – and was snapped on his way out of the studios, after visiting his castmates and picking up scripts.
Chris hasn’t been seen on screen since July, when Peter and his girlfriend Carla Connor left to go travelling, after he agreed to hand over custody of his son Simon to his ex-wife Leanne (Jane Danson).
The alcoholic had planned to do a runner with his boy, but when he realised Simon (Alex Bain) wanted to stay in Weatherfield with his step-mum, he eventually agreed to leave him with her.
So the couple decided to leave town anyway, saying the break was what they needed to get their relationship back on track.
As yet, there’s been no sign of actress Alison King, who plays Carla. So could Peter be coming back to Corrie as a single man?
And what will his return mean for Leanne, her fella Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Simon?
