Her on-screen character is a sexy barmaid but Catherine Tyldesley departed from her on-screen style by draping herself in a floaty maxi dress.

The Coronation Street actress looked fresh and comfortable in the olive green frock as she took a break from filming the soap.

The 29-year-old styled her hair in loose curls, which were the perfect complement to her Grecian look.

She added some subtle bling with a gold bib necklace while a cross-patterned brown belt matched her oversized sunglasses.

The star ensured that she had everything she needed to enjoy the sun, carrying a roomy tote bag. 

A pair of colourful bejewelled sandals completed her summery and elegant look.

Her relaxed style was in contrast to her more clingy on-screen outfits in Coronation Street.

Catherine plays barmaid Eva Price on the soap, a feisty character with a high maintenance lifestyle.

She admits that her personal style is often very different from that of her alter-ego.

Out in the sun: Catherine seemed to be enjoying the warmer weather 

‘She wears the stuff I would never have the nerve to wear. It's weird, sometimes you just feel really glam and it's a nice feeling,’ she said.

She also says that her role as Eva demands lots of preening and beauty treatments, which can be exhausting. 
‘It's an effort, it's a real effort actually,’ she said. ‘Because you're constantly thinking, “Have I painted my nails? Have I fake tanned? Do my roots need doing?”’
